Jaguar may utilize BMW's N63/S63 twin turbo V8 architecture for next generation 2020 F-Type
This is big news for the BMW Tuning community if it comes true. Not to mention, the F-Type would likely be the lightest chassis on sale with the BMW 4.4 liter twin turbo V8 that is street legal. This all hinges on a rumor from CAR magazine.
BMW supplied motors previously for Land Rover/Range Rover so this is hardly a stretch. Plus, Jaguar's supercharged AJ133 V8 is long overdue for a turbocharged update.
It makes perfect sense that Jaguar would save the money on developing a new twin turbo V8 and utilize what BMW already has much aking to Aston Martin going to AMG for a twin turbo V8 mill.
If this reporting about 'Project Jennifer' is correct expect to see the S63TU2 in Land Rover products as well.

Current F Type R weighs 3,8XX lbs, i can’t imagine they would be okay with going heavier with the bmw driveline considering their main competitor the 911 weighs ~200lbs less already.
F90 M5 weighs 42XX lbs so a 400lb weight advantage for the Jag, that’s pretty huge.

Well you are comparing a RWD car to AWD, so there is ~100lbs right there so back up to 4,200lbs AWD apples to apples

My thought is that they are okay keeping the weight similar because of the power and torque bump from the f90 drivetrain. Time will tell, but that’s my bet.
stripping weight out of a luxury car is not easy or inexpensive and considering they are now paying bmw for the drivetrain I can see them cheaping out and not cutting weight.

right, the Ftype chassis is already aluminum intensive so taking more out of it will be difficult. I did read that they want to make it lighter but that they also want to make 2+2 instead of a 2 only. Those seem to me to be conflicting statements. I also will believe it when I see it.
