Stock, Weistec tuned, and Pure 900 turbo upgrade + DME Tuning 1/4 mile results for the W213 Mercedes-AMG E63 S M177

There is nothing better than seeing real world testing from an owner with his own car every step of the way. This particular W213 E63 S was tested on the dragstrip stock, with a Weistec ECU tune, and then with the Pure 900 M177 turbo upgrade and DME Tuning software.

    How did it do stock?

A roughly 122 mile per hour car on pump gas. Not bad at all and capable of running low 11's.

Now how about with a Weistec tune and some race gas?

Great tune only numbers. Traction is suffering a bit as the 60 foot has not improved but the car is now clearing 100 in the 1/8 mile and picking up 4-6 miles per hour of trap speed. That is a clear difference.

Now how about with the Pure 900 M177 turbo upgrade and DME Tuning Stage 3 ECU tuning package?

10.861 @ 128.11. Honestly, disappointing. An improvement but a minor one over the tune only results.

To put the result in context the car is on 21 inch wheels/tires and pump gas. Density altitude was in the ~2000 foot range. This shows what it can do in daily form but not the full capability.

It needs race gas and a far more aggressive tune to really show what those turbos can do.

Regardless, great of the owner to show the results each step of the way and that being at the forefront of the tuning process is hardly easy. He will certainly have more software revisions and setups to test out. Those 21's are not doing him any favors.

In Russia we had quite a number of W213 E63s dragstrip data: 11.0 at 125-126mph on average - stock cars on EU premium pump gas.
St.2 (i.e. cattless exhaust + tune) showed 10.8 at 131-132mph. This car showed on Dyno ca. 750hp at crank. The problem is W213 has 3 ECUs to deal with: 1) engine ECU; 2) gearbox ECU; 3) comfort balance ECU. So up to now no-one can deal with all 3, the best solution is flash tune first 2 and piggy back the latter. Otherwise the car limits its power on the road and you have your "750" downsizing to 680-700 at max. Hence 10.8 when it should be ~10.5.
As for the abovementioned "900", common guys don't foul yourself and others.
