Yes you need to take the maniofld off and see if you can see burnt oil somewhere.
Haven't seen any smoke, but haven't tried that. Shoots oil out the tail pipe if I rev it a bit at idle while still somewhat cold. I guess I'll drop the turbo one of these days to confirm then.

It has to be the turbo then, right? That just sounds like a mess or it could be an excuse for some new parts.

Doubt it's the turbo. Cylinder 4 clearly has oil in it and replacing the plug/injector fixes the rough running issue. I scoped it again and had a friend look as well. Cylinder walls and piston look great, the piston top just has significant carbon deposits in comparison to the other cylinders. 90% it is a leaking exhaust valve guide. Just have to drop the turbo to confirm.

I recently had the head off of my car, cylinder two was kind of gunked up with oil on the top of the piston and valves. My head gasket had a very small leak on the corner of cylinder six, so it got all new injectors and a head gasket. Closely monitoring my plug in cyl 2, before the head came off I noticed a little bit of oil on cyl 2 spark plug. Nothing crazy but enough to bring concern

So did your valves on cylinder 2 look any different? Build up on the exhaust side? Leaking valve seals is not unheard of, but I know these can bend rods with PS2 as well.

Yes cylinder two had valves with build up, valve seals looked totally fine though, possible valve guide issue though.... I will know a lot more here in the next week or so after pulling the plug again.

I was more meaning on the back/stem of the valve, in the exhaust port. Let me know what you find on the plug, did it look like mine before?

Ahhh The other end of the valves all looked the same, my cylinder four didn’t look any different on the stem from the others. Plug did look very similar to yours..trying to upload a pic but it’s glitching out

Its most likely are cracked ring land but its still in place and hasnt fully let go yet

Seen this happen, no matter what its still a cheap fix as you only have to change one piston, some rings, one bearing, gaskets and some labour.

If it fully lets go youll be up for a lot more than that
