How does the new 2018 W213 Mercedes-AMG S stack up in a drag race against the Audi RS7 Performance and Nissan GT-R?

On paper the new W213 Mercedes-AMG E63 S is the most powerful car of this trio. Mercedes-AMG rates the new E63 S at 603 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. Now, depending on whose horsepower rating standard you use the RS7 Performance edition puts out up to 605 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque.

The power is basically a wash but Mercedes-AMG is getting much more torque out of their 4.0 liter V8 for whatever reason.

The Nissan GT-R of course has a 3.8 liter V6 and while it is also all wheel drive like its challengers it has a dual clutch transmission. It is also the lightest of the three.

It is surprisingly close but the GT-R pulls all three on the top end.

No trap speeds as usual (wtf?) but the GT-R wins with the E63 S close in second.

Seems like the new E63 S is a 125 mph car or so.

You can be sure that the new M5 at 4.4L will have even more power under the curve than its 4.0L competitors, look at it to eclipse their 1/4mile times and/or mph

i wish they did a roll race as well to show the difference at higher speeds because the E63S looked like it was coming for the GTR

Stock for stock the M5 will probably be the drag race champion. BMW knows they need to make a splash.
