    135i gearbox clunking

Seems my gearbox clunks upon initial engine startup and shut down.

will I be needing a rebuild soon on the gearbox? What are ky
    options? Cheers

Could be the guibo or the parking paw. Inspect the guibo while having someone rotate both tires the same direction back and forth in park and see if there is any play. And to help eliminate the paw after eliminating the guibo would be to start and stop the car in neutral and see if the sound is still there..

AT or MT? If MT, turn the car off with the clutch pushed in and see if it still makes the noise.

I saw the OP had the CDV delete , so I figured MT. Mine is so random that I wouldn't know if I pushed in the clutch whether it was TOB / DMFW chatter, but its a great idea once mine is more consistent.

Sorry I posted in the wrong place guys. My bad. Still getting to grips with the site.

basically mine does it in neutral and yes and it is a 6speed manual.

only does it when starting and switch off.

Clutch in in fine clutch out bad.

More likely to be your TOB or DMFW failing then, not your trans.
