Kleeman cams for M113K info
On other forums, there was a thread regarding Schrick, PTE/VRP, SLR and Kleeman cams. One of the comments stated that Schrick=Evotech=Kleeman. I relayed the information to Kleeman for clarification.
A big thank you/tak to Claus Ankjær.
Schrick makes cams for NA M113, the M113K
Will lose power with these = Down grade.
Even Schrick in Germany send me customers.
Ours are made as an upgrade to M113K, see Dyno.Schrick makes cams for NA M113, the M113K

Good info but I still think it's all Schrick. When it comes to cams for modern German motors they are basically the only game in town.
Kleemann makes a lot of claims but I've seen very little from them these days. They have have fallen off hard. The M133K was the last platform they had a major role in though.
I honestly wouldn't waste time with cams for this motor until boost and built motor options have been exhausted.

Aren't there 800whp E55s with 3.0L Wiestec blowers that are still on stock cams? I don't think they're really necessary

OK I see where this is going. Basically I would have to dyno every part, post a dyno sheet and....etc. My opinion is that it's all hot air unless you have the proof/evidence. So far on MB forums, I see a lot of opinions and negativity without any evidence to support their claims.
I don't believe that rods/pistons are going to produce any significant increase in hp unless you change compression ratios. Swapping to ID1000 injectors won't either unless you change the fuel you are using.
Well let me know how the bench racing goes. Enjoy.
If you want to see the end result, come to Shift S3ctor in Coalinga, CA in 2016. I'll try to park next to the Weistec guys.

Yeah I didn't mean to be negative about it, I guess we were just trying to make the point that it doesn't seem to be a necessity on this platform unless you're trying to squeeze every living horse out of that engine. I see this differing from something like a Corvette with an LS motor where almost all high horsepower guys are running larger cams.
And you're right, built internals don't produce any additional horsepower, they're a supporting modification that allows you to run more boost without having a component failure. Or, as you stated, changing the compression (I'm guessing that would normally involve changing the bore of the engine as well, unless the piston design is radically different).
Obviously injectors are a must for high horsepower M113Ks (06s come with lightly larger injectors than previous years), but when you tune for more fuel and air you need to need to be within a safe injector duty cycle %. I'm sure you know all of this.
I think the overall point here is that it's not a great modification for hp/dollar, just because the M113K is a mature platform that is probably the most common tuner engine for Mercedes in the US, and I haven't seen it listed as a necessity on anyone's build list. It also seems like, from what you posted originally, that there aren't a lot of very good cam options out there. If you do get cams, though, I'd be curious to see what difference it makes.
Maybe I'll make it out to Cali for some car culture stuff in 2016, been meaning to for a while but never been able to.2014 BMW M235i [Current]
