Audi vs. VW - MRC tuned Volkswagen MKVII Golf R vs. MRC Tuned Audi C7 RS6 4.0 TFSI drag race

Interesting 1/4 mile drag race here between big brother and little brother. The Volkswagen Golf R is of course lighter and smaller than the Audi C7 RS6 but it also has half the displacement and half the cylinders. It does have a dual clutch transmission sending the power to all four wheels whereas the RS6 has a more traditional automatic.

Raw power and torque is of course on the side of the RS6 and its 4.0 liter twin turbo V8. It also carries 4600+ pounds so over 1200 pounds more than the Golf R.

Both cars have bolt on modifications and both feature tuning from MRC Tuning as stated in the title. We do not know what type of fuel each ran. This race took place at Shakespeare County Raceway in the UK.

The Golf R gets the jump but that does not affect the times. In a 1/4 mile drag race on a sanctioned drag strip the timer does not start until the car moves. That means while the Golf R crosses the finish line first it is the RS6 that is the quicker and faster car by virtue of its very impressive 10.577 @ 131.91 pass. The Golf R also produces an impressive 11.384 @ 121.95 run.

The big brother RS6 is quicker and faster but low 11's out of the Golf R with bolt ons is incredibly impressive considering the 2.0 liter motor.

Damn 11.3 @ almost 122mph is insane from the golf R. That trap speed is suspect for a stock turbo golf R just don't see it providing enough air for that type of trap

Agreed. I don't have the mod list so just going by what is posted.

Either way, 11.3 @ 122 is incredibly impressive from the Golf R.

That's believable as you would need that type of power to hit a 122 trap. Still pretty damn impressive for a 4pot with a hybrid turbo and bolt ons its probably a fun pocket rocket.

add on that it's AWD, would definitely be a fun winter/snow toy.
