Renntech W205 C63 AMG Stage I M177 ECU tune development dyno results - Over 600 horsepower tune only

Well, they did it. Renntech said just last week that they already got their new W205 C63 AMG over 600 horsepower with just their tune and here is the proof. Keep in mind, this is still early in development and as further reliability testing is done the numbers may change.

The Stage I Renntech M177 tune provides 609.7 horsepower and 594 lb-ft of torque on pump gas at the crank. This is roughly 100 horsepower and 100 lb-ft of torque over the stock car.

Renntech states the C63 AMG M177 has a smaller intake than the M178 in the AMG GT. The AMG GT makes some more power up top when tuned but the C63 AMG MCT seems more durable and can handle more torque.

The M177 in the C63 AMG is underrated like the AMG GT. The AMG GT S M178 baseline dyno figures from Renntech show roughly another 20 horsepower with that power coming up top. Despite what the paper power figures state, the M177/M178 make slightly more power.

Renntech is doing reliability testing and we will have a follow up on their testing as soon as it possible.

Nice to see results on these motors before they are even released in the US with real flash tunes as well. As far as under rating im almost 100% sure the car that was used to baseline and put down ~510 Crank HP is a base c63 not a C63 S. The C63 is rated at 469 HP so that is a decent amount of under rating for the car I've also heard the superflow dyno they use is not overly generous I would love to see a dynojet sheet just for comparison.

I'm trying to get clarification on this. Also trying to get WHP numbers.

Ok what I really need are the WHP figures to put this in context like we got for the AMG GT S. I'll try to do a follow up comparison between the M178/M177.

I may have published this a bit too early but Renntech was looking for it to be up. I think it's just a time difference issue that we haven't received responses. No big deal, we'll get more details and put them in.

The gains certainly are very impressive.

Same I really would love to see WHP numbers but don't really know how to view them in context to the regular dynos we see here in the US. Its obviously lower reading then a dynojet but how is it compared to a mustang/Dyno dynamics lol hopefully someone in the US will get dynojet numbers soon. Aside from that the delta is impressive for sure especially considering its not a "final" revision tune. Powerband looks nice and wide with Max HP available from almost 5000rpm to redline. That's some power under the curve for ya the car wont go under 5,000 rpm after shifts so the 609HP will be a constant number instead of a peak.

It is the non-S. I edited the article slightly.

I'll be doing a direct comparison so we can get a better idea of how the two stack up.
