Building a Supercharged S54
Hi,
The tuning fever has got me. Im coming up with a plan for building an S54 engine that i recently got. The plan is to get smooth power with reliablity that can be driven in streets. Im thinking about 3.4 stroker, low comp forged bottom end, supercharger, maybe cams and head? The cost is not much of a concern.
Block:
Is really there gains to be had with the stroker?
9.5:1 pistons. Is it too low or good enough?
Head:
Again is it worth it to do pnp?
Are there sc cams?
Headers:
Whats the best headers for FI application?
SC:
Which kit to get? Im looking for 700 at crank. It seems that the rotrex unit in AA kit is not that efficient for those powers. This leaves me with VF kit which i heard horrible stories about their tuning.
An alternative way would be to have vf hardware and have it tuned by 3rd party.
Any inputs is welcome.Last edited by 93siro; 05-01-2015 at 02:14 AM.

No need to stroke, don't bother.
If supercharging I'd do 10.0:1 compression. That's just me.
I haven't seen SC specific cams done although Schrick does have cams for NA applications guys have used with blowers successfully.
If you want response then headwork and higher compression on an SC will help.
I'd avoid VF. The AA kit offers better response than any of the Vortech based kits. If all you want is power you should just go turbo anyway.BRAND NEW IN BOX 991.2 standard/non-pse SPW cat bypass pipe for sale - $899 shipped
