good point, but how much weight does the DCT contribute to the M5/6 total? With the aggressive weight target on the F8x cars, they will have to reduce weight of the trans units, which may mean not being able to handle the power like the bigger cars.

on the other hand, a bespoke DCT for the F8x cars costs money, so you're probably right - they'll just shove the existing unit in there and take the hit on weight.

It's about a 50 pound premium not that big of a deal and already factored into the design.

I'm not bashing but last I heard your car was in the shop. By running, I don't mean idling around I mean your driving it, putting miles on it, tracking it, etc. It's still in the shop at this point right?

Cars in shops don't run? So you go in for an oil change that means your car doesn't run?

It's waiting for parts to hold the torque it's producing, not sure what you expect. I can turn the boost down and drive it around if that satisfies you? But it doesn't satisfy me.

Whoosh asked if there are any e9x m3's running around with over 500 wtq, as you said your car is waiting on parts , hence not out on the road running around. Your car is the only dct m3 I know with over 500 wtq, but I could be wrong. Does it run? Yes....is it in your hands running on the street? No... That's all I'm saying. I'm not trying to argue or put your car down.

My car was running around with well over 500 wheel torque so yes I answered his question.

Mine is probably the only public M3 with over 500 wtq and out of the public M3's nobody else comes close.

Yes it runs and that is not dependent on me driving on the street. I could park in the garage honestly that wouldn't mean it doesn't run.

The question was essentially are there DCT M3's with over 500 wheel torque and yes there is one, mine. We'll see how much more torque I get out of it once I can raise the boost. Handling that increased torque which requires additional parts doesn't mean the car does not run as you implied.
