There is a ton of great information here, so looking forward to any more thoughts you all have.

I noticed the S85 rod bearing part numbers have changed. Does anyone know if there was an actual improvement to the design or just that the new bearings are lead free per regulations?

Apparently the quasi-dry sump on the S85 doesn't really help out in this area much either...
    Welcome.

I wouldn't be surprised that the S65 and S85 share similar issues in the rod baring department. I would recommend created a thread on this topic in the S85 section.

Also, I would ask @Mike@VAC if they offer S85 bearings.

Kind of off topic, but seems like the right people to ask

What is a decent price to rebuild the s65 motor. Im not talkin a fullly built motor with sleeves or anything.
Just some drop in lower compression pistons, rods and bearings.

    Labor hrs and price estimates?

Stock crank? Pistons, rods, bearings, associated parts, and labor should be under $10k

You can do about 600 safely on the stock motor. If building, might as well sleeve it.

A properly built motor will run you around $15k.
