Lightweight M3 by RS-Racing
RS-Racing has taken the other approach to tuning a M3.
Instead of a huge power adding they only added a humble 30 HP.
But instead they will strip your M3 clear of any luxury, add a set of Billstein coilovers, some dials, some Carbon Fibre, and in that process make it lose a whopping 190 kg.
You will probably need earplugs to drive it after this metamorphosis, but it will be a true street legal track car.

Hate claims that aren't backed up. 418 pounds? Ok, prove it. The Ericcsson M3 with carbon doors didn't save that much although the interior wasn't stripped to the same level. Still, 418? Show me.

Also, anyone notice that the centre console is different. Don't all M3s come the the 3 buttons next to the shifter for power, EDC (optional), and DSC off? Wonder why they don't have it.

No sound system (maybe removed the air conditioning + compressor), gutted interior (race seats, no back seats, race steering wheel, no carpeting + sound deadening material), a 6MT, light weight wheels, a lot of CF, BUT they kept the automatic windows?? Hopefully it's at least plastic/plexi glass now
They just moved the Power & DSC buttons from the OEM location (to the driver side of the shifter) to underneath the climate control / custom gauges

Devotec did all that and more with way lighter seats, no door panels at all, no centre console trim, no floor panels. NOTHING.
Only differences would be roll cage (devotec has none, that's pretty heavy), steering wheel (not a big difference), exhaust (devotec has akra, that's pretty f'n light), and wheels (devotec has apex ~20lbs), and devotec has idrive (don't know weight differences).
Oh and the fact that its a E90 vs E92 (don't know which is lighter to be honest) (E92 does have carbon roof).
Check some pics. http://imgur.com/a/x7I3A
Thanks for the clarification on the buttons being relocated, didn't notice it. Very well done and good placement. I like it!///Matthew

I'm not saying that this is how M3 should have come, but i believe these cars have too many unnecessary parts. I honestly don't even use half of the features my car came with.
The E90 has more stuff to remove from. Maybe it's because of that.
Ditto.

damn, over 400 lbs. Heated seats alone weigh about 40lbs each. The airconditioner was probably removed too that's antoehr 150lbs. I mean, I believe it. Just took a lot of time and money.

Cool.
I bet they could have saved more weight by getting rid of, what looks to be the stock muffler.
On topic of lightweight E90 M3s, I'm so glad that I didn't get any options on mine. Even then, it's still a pig, haha.2002 E46 M3 6MT | Jet Black . Black Nappa | My GermanBoost Build Thread
