Audi 3.0 TFSI supercharged and direct injected V6 wins fourth straight Ward's 10 Best Engine Award
The Audi 3.0 TFSI supercharged V6 is an incredible motor certainly worthy of the awards it receives. The motor won a very impressive 4th straight Ward's 10 Best Engine title. The executive editor of Ward's Auto stated, ""It's hard these days for engines to stay on our list for two or three years, but the Audi S5's 3.0L supercharged V6 has managed four straight years, and it does so with stunning grace and power. This engine does everything well -- it's quiet at idle and potent when prodded -- in a number of vehicle applications."
AudiBoost believes the 3.0 TFSI motor deserves tremendous respect. Due to a unique design that bleeds off excess boost the Audi motor is able to compensate for altitude even with a mechanically driver supercharger as well as get tremendous gains with a tune. Over 400 wheel horsepower is possible through software alone. Additionally, new modifications are coming out for the motor all the time. With bigger blowers, the sky is really the limit but the 3.0 TFSI shows it is a powerplant which makes an excellent tuner platform.
Congratulations to Audi for this achievement.
