This started out as a brand new 997 911 Turbo S.
After a complete stripdown and a rebuild with a Carbon Fibre body , a new set of bigger turbos, almost no exhaust , new suspension, stabilizors, cooling system, upholstery, isolation, you name it, all has been changed to make this car awesome and light.
They adapted a flat 911 RSR racing bottomplate and bolted that on as well.
The result is an extremely lightweight car with 575 HP and 845 Nm, connected to a PDK transmission.

Cost of the rebuild ( $400.000,- ) is a little steep, but it looks really great.

I've seen that before. If I'm not wrong, it was originally a 997.2 Turbo S that was heavily modified with a carbon fiber body among other things to convert it to a street legal RSR style beast. Supposedly it cost like $400,000.00

We are not too sure why Champion calls this a street legal version of the 911 RSR race car as that vehicle is based on the GT3. Champion started with a 997 Turbo S on the car you see here which means rather than a high revving GT1 race car derived motor it has the new turbo flat-6. This vehicle also had a PDK transmission which the RSR does not. The all wheel drive is also another difference versus the race car rear wheel drive. It would probably be more accurate to state this attempts to mimic RSR performance for the street as the name really makes no sense with all the differences.

Regardless, the car itself is quite simply badass. The body is stripped down and replaced with carbon fiber panels. The VTG (variable turbine geometry) turbos get upgraded. The exhaust is basically straight piped. The suspension gets 4-way adjustable Ohlins coilovers and new suspension arms. Super lightweight magnesium wheels round out the $399,000 package.

We wish we had the weight specs for the car but this is not something most people are going to be looking into purchasing anyway. A very cool build but not price effective or really reflective of the 997 GT3 RSR. We are honestly amazed no other site pointed this out.
