Do out of country speeding tickets have an effect on my driving record in the US?

BB made me pick a prefix even tho work safe isn't an option and this is work suitable.
anyway...cop got an old address. since my current license has an outdated address Click here to enlarge

Wouldn't think so unless it was a criminal charge. Not sure though.
Never thought I would see the day...

In what country did you get the ticket?
In Europe, the answer is NO. Your US record will not be affected.
However, I don't know what the situation is for Canada.

If the ticket was from many countries in Europe, you can bet your ass a ticket will be sent to the address you gave in the U.S.! Depending on how long ago your old address was valid, it may be forwarded to your new address (as per USPS protocol).

Do you plan on returning to this country at any stage? That's the key issue.
If so, you may want to pay the penalty! Traffic violations are criminal offenses in many countries. The way it works is that if you pay the penalty within a given period, the 'crime' is not prosecuted.
If you don't pay within the given time-period, you can be detained at immigration in that country if you show your face again! That happened my brother!

I own an insurance agency and atleast here in South Dakota can tell you that even canadian speeding tickets do not report on your dmv. You should be in the clear.
