VF-Engineering VF620 BMW E9X (E90) M3 S65 V8 supercharger kit install photos, videos, and before/after dyno on 91 octane
The VF-Engineering kit may have been the last to market of the major US players for the S65 V8 in the M3 but it definitely is making some waves. The M3 receiving the install here is an E90 with DCT. The baseline on the car completely stock was a very healthy 351 wheel horsepower on the EAS dynojet. After the install? 521 wheel horsepower on 91 octane. A very healthy gain of 170 wheel horsepower which is a realistic gain on 91 octane.
Installation generally takes about 3 business days.

as do I
well, its all subjective, and dynos are dyno's. but trap speeds are trap speeds, and this kit has gone as fast as a 650 kit, with, as you already know, also set the ET and E9X record..no small feat since most believe some wheel spin resuts in higher MPH, so a great ET with a High MPH shows MUCH better performance than a high MPH and slower ET.. we can all draw our own conclusions on that

It's less ///M tax than low volume tax. Look at the Edelbrock e-Force kit for late model domestics. Absolutely AMAZING kit - Eaton TVS (same as ZR1), self contained oil, a/w IC, CARB approved for $6-8k. They sell TONS of these kits, so prices can be kept down. BMW volume is super low in comparison, so the mfgrs much charge 'more'

you guys should see if you can do some research.. see what happens if you do a limited 1 month run of this kit for say $8k+install, and see how many people jump on it. would be interesting and im sure a few on the fence would jump on. (and no, im not suggesting thats what im looking for, i really would like to know if the price is keeping people from buying)
just a thought

Feel like the manifold needs some work, looks pretty stock looking. At the end of the day I think ESS has the best mani

as far as look, i would agree, without a doubt, the ess mani looks the best of any.
but remember, form follows function. since its not their first mani version, im betting they did some hardcore R&D to make sure it performs far above the rest. of course that is speculation. But looking at performance you can safely assume it does. less boost than any other kit and equal/better performance is a testament to that.
it kinda reminds me of an article I just read on kennebelle.com about hood open vs close and "cold air intakes" vs real cold air kits on dyno'sLast edited by LostMarine; 02-03-2012 at 02:59 PM.

yea, i dont like that every thread turns to me about when ill get one though.
I was/am contemplating just a stg 1 kit though. I dont want the spotlight. I want to enjoy my car w/o being constantly judged and showcased for what it can/cant do.
I do have voicemails from a few people i still need to listen to though
but i do want stg2 power, and i want to continue to meet up with locals and do the VS stuff and post videos, just dont want the BS that comes with.. thats my problem..

Sorry then. I asked you about this in a few threads.

S65 FI scene is the BS.
