Wedge Flash 9.5 deg FBO 93 OCT Bav Tech Cable Log Review
Hey guys a little new to this logging and wondering if i could get some help going over my log. I am in 3rd gear FBO running 93 OCT and wedge 9.5 deg flash.
You can see what I have logged here, I just followed Terry's xml file for the Bav Tech, rather clumsy logging software. I also would of liked to log my LPFP but not sure have to do that via this cable. Also do i need to convert the boost with datazap or any more i should be logging? Thanks for the help.

Well that timing curve looks quite unhappy, not sure of boost values in this log though.
Try lowering boost and make sure you have a well running setup before pushing boost (and timing)
Or try dome of v8baits files instead.

If you can log AFRs that would be nice.
It looks like the Bav Tech tool logs boost in Kpa. 1Kpa=.145psi so it's a pretty simple conversion to make.
+18psi and targeting 9.5 degrees on 93 octane is lulz but used short blocks are becoming more common now so I guess they'll be easy to find when the time comes.

Thanks for the help, after reading a bit more looks as though Wedge Flash is not to popular around here due to the aggressive timing ect. I just let a friend borrow the BT cable so i can't flash to a different bin right now but I can add some E85 to help the oct level hopefully help with timing. I have a 3 quarters of a tank fill right now so I can top if off. Looking at V8Baits maps though could be more of a e30 map based on what he has his set to?
The car has new plugs, Injectors, all new gaskets ect so its in good running shape but this is not the first time now I have heard the timing vs oct is going to kill the block on wedge maps. I downloaded all of V8bait maps and could try those as well. I also emailed wedge with the logs looking to hear back. I will make the correction for kpa to PSI, and also try to log AFR's as well. Ideally I would like to learn myself with tuning so trying to take in as much as possible. I will make some changes and log again.
Anybody know to log the Fuel pump with Bav Tech?2008 AW 6MT | Hexon RR550 | Supporting mods and such

Does it target 9.5 degrees on spool and then advance from there? Target it flat like his 15 degree flash does? Just curious.

100 per every other tune to send the same file and over is certainly not doing anyone any favors. Go look at the DL counter of Terrys tunes on N54Tech, than multiply that by 28 revisions, x 100 for half of them. We prob could have bought him his two M's from just the "custom tunes".

thats what he requests which many do and share that info on... Terry will provide you with updates as needed for free ... not sure why people choose to get wedge to flash their car, i have seen 3-4 cars happy with it to date. Scary.

I have never run a Wedge Tune as we all know Dzenno tunes everything for me, always to great success. But I will say, when I first bought the shop car it needed to be recoded to a more compatible DME ID. Ken AKA Wedge, literally spent hours and hours helping me to get this done, as my old ass tuning laptop first did not have enough storage for all the software then wouldn't install drivers etc. Half of this time was spent with Wedge on Screen share just working on the car while I wasn't even sitting there and was doing other things, when he needed me, he would text me. He never asked for a dime, I donated $100 bucks to him because he deserved it, I have no idea how he is working his tunes, but the amount of time he spent helping me was above and beyond and there was no required donation asked for. A few months back, he flamed us pretty hard in the PTF single kits thread over on E90, and I was pretty annoyed by it, but I figured I should share my experience anyways because he went above and beyond to help us get the car coded.

Ken is a very good dude and always eager to help, whether or not he charges is whatever(I know for a fact a donation is not required.) I just wish he would back off how aggressive he is with his tuning... letting the knock sensor determine you timing curve is just not a good idea.

i agree he is helpful but many more motors have been blown than people know about with his flash, not sure why people dont make it public, but i would go back to the drawing board before sending that same file off to someone else and accept another donation.
But i have heard many stories like Tony's ..... helping remotely many times but the stories I have heard than have him send these same files to people he knows are running pump gas who do not know much of anything about the key factors in engine health while running aggressively , which can easily be told by a few emails back and forth by him and the user. It is what it is, im done, i shared my .02 but I would 100000% stick with PTF or Terry over him personally.09 6AT 335i Coupe M-Sport - SOLD

If motors are blowing up something is seriously wrong somewhere. You know how hard these motors are to blow up?
Here is a prime example, and it happened last night while doing some boost, EGT, and BP logging on the shop car. Running the mega aggressive 558WHP/619WTQ tune, WITH a few extra PSI added for good measure I am doing a 2000-redline pulls in 3rd. Mid-pull 29+ psi, 15 degrees of advance, 5500RPM meat of the powerband, number 2 injector plug somehow vibrates out, dropping all fuel to number 2 cylinder instantly, log is a scary thing to behold, bank 1 afr jumping to over 15:1 and HPFP dropping all at the same time. SOMEHOW the DME being the magic box it is, catches it and throws it into limp, I pull over check codes, #2 injector malfunction, hmmm. Pop the hood find the plug out just quite not seated and am 100% sure when I fire it back up the idle is going to be lumpy still with a torched cylinder. Fire it back up, dead smooth do 3 more pulls at these levels, logs are all perfect. In ANY PI car that cylinder is gone if something like that happens.
The point of this story is, if the DME can work its magic to protect the motor in a situation like that, you must really be doing bad things to lose one of these, from a lean / knock condition.
