    P30FE- Noobie needs help

Hey guys i'm a noobie that needs your help!

I have this persisting P30FE (Boost Pressure too High: WG clamped- 1) code. Marv85 has been nice enough to help me with some diagnostics.

    Car Specs and Mods
    07 E93 N54 6AT
    Cobb 401 Drive LT
    AFE Scoops
    K&N Drop In
    BMW PE
    AP Racing Brakes

    Here is the scenario

I drop the car into 3rd gear and keep the foot on partial throttle to keep it at 2500 RPM for around 10-20 seconds. I then give it 3/4 throttle and the car starts spooling and at 100 Km/H, the car pops a check engine light and i have no boost at all.

    Background

Had it sent to the dealer, where they replaced the HPFP and Injectors as well as updated the DME to I8A0S. Car ran fine for a 2-3 months and now its back.

    Possible Issues?
    Wastegate getting blocked by DP
    Wastegate needs adjustment
    Solenoids?
    defective actuator arm

I'll try to get logs but the funny thing is that it only happens in that scenario. Where i have the car in third gear near spool and then give it the beans.

i read vasillalov's post on greasing the actuators too, thats something i might have to do.

I'm going to try finding a lift and seeing if the wastegate is hitting or loose and then i'll see if i should either
    tighten or grease the wastegate.

$#@!, i'm too broke to buy the new Vargas Stage 1 B turbo =(

Does your car have wastegate rattle? If so try calling BMW NA, give them your VIN and ask if your turbos are covered under the extended warranty for wastegate rattle. If so, take it to BMW and complain of the wastegate rattling. They will either try to adjust the wastegates, or replace the turbos. I just got a new set on my car.

Greasing stuck actuators? Never heard of that. You mean the actual joint seizes on the turbine housing? At that point no grease will fix that, much less its an invitation for a fire. Replacement is the only option.

I doubt it's your wastegates. If that was the issue, you would throw a check engine light, under full boost, not just 30FE. I did some research on this on E90crap. Looks like that's what happened to Mr. 5

On another note, it seems like even vendors get banned now on E90. Modbargains.com got banned, recently! Click here to enlarge

A PID algorithm is included as part of our engine management computer from the factory: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PID_con...d_applications

This is part of our boost control. If this portion of the software hasn't been carfully re-written, it's probably the culprit behind, your 30FE codes. The latest cobb firmware, and maps (4.02) reportedly fixed this issue? someone correct me if I'm wrong

I was thinking of doing that, but so far, I've not attempted to do so. I have no waste gate rattle or wastegate issues (31K miles). Knock on wood. Mine was definitely tune related and was resolved by upgrading to 4.02 maps.
